
Senior Capstone Project

Cyber Streets is a lover letter to all things 80’s, cyberpunk, retro futurism and anime.
As lead designer I was responsible for all aspects tied to the creative vision on the project. Taking inspiration from the city of Vancouver’s Skytrain network I built the level as cyberpunk version of what a person might see on a regular basis in Neo Vancouver.

The Action RPG features were then implemented taking inspiration from multiple contemporary titles in the genre.
Below is a list of the features that were added to the game in order to provide players with an enriched action experience.

The goal of the project was to develop an off the hook fast paced action game where the player gets to experience what it's like to be an extremely nimble cyberpunk ninja.
The pillars of the combat experience were:

Lightning fast melee combo attacks that overwhelm enemies

Super acrobatic and agile movements to engage or evade enemies

Fighting enemies one on one or against a whole group of them, AND
-
Frantic, subversive combat encounters.
